Exe Valley Mission Community

An email from Open Doors

This is just a note to thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak on behalf of Open Doors yesterday. Chris, Rosemary and I had a most enjoyable morning. We all thought that Loxbeare was a lovely church.

We had some good conversations with people after the service and a fair amount of literature was taken.  Five people claimed copies of the new edition of "God's Smuggler" as either existing or new supporters of Open Doors. In the end, we gathered 22 signatures for the petition and I appreciated your help with this.

Thank you so much for the collection for the work of Open Doors.  In all honesty, I hadn’t expected this. In the end, the total came to £309. This included £10 in a gift aid envelope and the £22.50 I was given for travelling expenses which I have donated to Open Doors. Although I make a point of not going on about money when giving talks, the money is much-needed and will be put to good use. I am most grateful to you and the congregation for their generosity. If there is a way of passing on my thanks to those who attended yesterday, I would very much appreciate this.

I think my theme for next year will be on the subject of the new campaign, "Hope for the Middle East". I will be in touch with Rev Steff Jeffs sometime next year in case the Exe Valley Mission Community would like me to come again. It was a pleasure to meet you and I wish you every blessing

Peter
