Templeton Summer Fete - Saturday August 10th - from 1.30pm at Templeton Village Hall
Don’t miss this popular community event! This year’s Templeton Summer Fete will include the Grand Auction along with cream teas, cakes, hot dogs, pay bar, bric-a-brac, nearly new clothes, books, produce, tombola and games. Please have a look through your cupboards now for anything that you no longer need. It takes a village to run big, village events and, as always, we would be grateful for any volunteers who would be able to help with the stalls and games and help make the day great fun for everyone! If you could spare some time on the morning of the fete, or on the evening before, to help set everything up, that would also be much appreciated. If you have an idea for a game or if you would like to find out more then please email templetonvh@gmail.com.
Duck Race at Templeton Bridge - Sunday September 8th - 2pm
The ducks are in training. Come and join us for this great family fun afternoon when we release hundreds of ducks into Templeton’s River Dart. The ducks will make their way from Great Esworthy Farm and finish at Dartcoombe Mill. Our river marshals ensure all our ducks arrive safely. There will also be cream teas, pasties, books for sale, a plant sale and bric-a-brac. Ducks will be on sale (£1 each) during the fete, and at club nights, by contacting Roger and Bindy on 01884 860655, or by emailing templetonvh@gmail.com and on the day. Money prizes to be won! All proceeds go to village funds.
Saturday 5th October – The Harvest Festival weekend - Harvest Supper at 7.30pm at Templeton Village Hall
Please do come along and enjoy this annual, delicious and plentiful supper to celebrate the harvest. The bar will be open from 7pm. We will also be celebrating the talented artists in Lynda’s art group with a display of their art work – and there is some more entertainment planned! Tickets will be £10.00 each (£5 for 14-year-olds and under). All proceeds will go in aid of St Margaret’s Church.
Sunday 6th October at 10.45am - Templeton’s Harvest Festival at St Margaret’s Church
We would be grateful if you could please bring any fresh fruit, vegetables, packaged or canned produce to the porch of St Margaret’s Church during the week before the service so that it can all be displayed in the church. All the produce will then be donated to the Churches Housing Action Team (CHAT). Your gifts are always very much appreciated by CHAT and they have asked us to pass on their deepest thanks.
Bonfire and firework display - Saturday 2nd November - from 6.30pm
This very popular event will take place at Templeton Village Hall. People really do come from far and wide to see it. The bar will be open and there will be delicious hot dogs for sale. So why not book the date now? Further details and prices to follow.
Anyone for Pickleball?
Pickleball is fast becoming one of the most popular racket sports in the world. Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Players of all ages can play as both singles and doubles, using paddles to hit a plastic ball between them.
It was suggested some time ago that Templeton Village Hall should purchase a Pickleball Set to add to the games available to play in the hall. However, before we commit to buying the equipment, we are looking for someone who would be willing to set the game up in Templeton and perhaps, get a team together. Any volunteers, please? For further information, please email templetonvh@gmail.com
