Next Steps for our curate Revd Claire Curtis
“It's great to see that Claire has enjoyed her placement at Silverton and that all her curacy outcomes have been achieved, and thus, her training post is coming to an end. We are extremely grateful for all that Claire has done during her training with us She has many gifts and talents which we have had the privilege of sharing. We will look for the right opportunity to mark her time with us sometime in the New Year. In the meantime, we send Claire our love and prayers for all that lies ahead.”
Revd Steph
"Thank you for letting me join in with you over the last 3 years, special thanks to Steph. Rural ministry surpasses all my expectations, and I absolutely love it. God has been gracious and long-suffering (Steph, too) with me, and you have been so kind in welcoming and sharing your lives with me, building teams like the pastoral lunches. We have laughed, cried, prayed for and hoped for the best in each other. Loving unconditionally is what I have learned the most from the EVMC. The confirmations of faith, live nativity, and choir at the cathedral will be up there, and the hornet up my cassock will conversely be down there in my experiences! Andrew and I will be continuing with our retreat, a place of hope and healing for young and old. I will also be exploring different expressions of worship alongside the normal priestly duties across different parts of the diocese. I’ve fallen in love with you all and will be praying for you from the saddle into the future. Waiting on God and watching how he uses us all next…. Sending love."
Revd Claire
"Along with Bishop Jackie, I am grateful to your Rector Steph for acting as Claire’s Training Incumbent; it is a considerable amount of extra work alongside managing a busy rural mission community. Whilst theological education prepares curates for ministry, working alongside an experienced colleague and ‘getting stuck in’ truly shapes a curacy. Often, towards the end of a training curacy, the curate will
apply for a new post in a different area and move away; however, with Self-Supporting Ordained Ministers like Claire, who is rooted in the
local area, the situation can be a little different, and so I’ll work with her and the Rural Dean to explore what might be next for Claire. Please keep Claire, Andrew and their family in your prayers as we seek God’s will for the future together."
The Venerable Andrew Beane,
Archdeacon of Exeter.
