Loxbeare May Round Up 2021

These notes are being written up over the Easter Weekend.  We are enjoying the lovely sunshine, beautiful flowers & shrubs, especially the abundance of daffodils brightening the days. Easter gives us hope as we reflect on Jesue' death, celebrate his resurrection & give thanks for His great love to us.

There was a group Easter service at Loxbeare on Easter Sunday, which was taken by Rev Ian Johnston, also the following Sunday and the Group service is planned for 11 April.

Thank you to those who contributed various items for the Easter display in the Church porch, depicting the last supper, including the childrens participation.  Well Done

Hopefully soon we will have some dates for services and activities, although a service is planned for 2 May at 11.00 in the Church and one in June.

It is good to feel there is light at the end of the tunnel with the Covid pandemic.  How thankful we are for the vaccinations with many in our parish having received one jab & some have had both.   May this continue.  We are glad too that we are now able to meet with up to six others, or two households, albeit outdoors again & for the lovely weather to do so.  We pray the lockdown sill continues to ease & we will all feel some freedom at last.

The APCM was held by Zoom on 8 March when Ron offered his resignation from being Church Warden after approximately 48 dedicated years, with the help & support of Margaret.  Tributes & many thanks were given in appreciation of all the work & commitment they have both given.

At a future date there will be a special time of being able to meet & share together for us all to express & show how much they been & still are valued in the Parish.  Ron has always been keen to encourage & include everyone in various ways, including the children.  He was the innovator of Sunday Special 30+ years age an interdenominational Young Peoples get together on a month on Sundays & included YP's from some Tiverton Churches as well.  He enjoyed running sports at Holiday Club & Harvest Festivals, taking services, organising the Carol singing each year and men's breakfasts & groups to keep the maintenance of the Churchyard.  We could say so much more about Ron & Margaret's ministry in various ways in Loxbeare and their desire to see many follow & love our Lord Jesus & for the gospel to be always preached.  They were & still are always ready to help, support & pray for others including whoever was Rector/Vicar over all these years.  We are sure they will continue to be supportive to the Church in the coming days.  Thank you both of you and may God richly bless you each day.

We pray for Jean Heard as she 'stands solo' as Church Warden for the time being.  Other roles within the Church remain the same apart from Linda Heywood who wishes to step down from the PCC.  Thank you to everyone for fulfilling their positions & serving the Church community so well.

The A P.C.C meeting will be on 22 April.

It is with sadness to hear the sudden passing away of Michael Lear's sister, Margaret Rabjohns.  Our thoughts, prayers & sympathy are with all the family at this difficult time.

It is good to hear that Steven Radford is recovering well after his operation.  We pray for continuing improvement.  We also remember those who are waiting appointments, treatments & all who are feeling unwell.

Congratulations to Colin & Margaret Radford who will be celebrating their Diamond wedding anniversary on 10 May.  We wish them every happiness on their special day.  Grandson Graham & Abi are planning to go ahead with their wedding in May.  We trust this will be a lovely day for them & their families.  We wish them much happiness in their future lives together.

Happy birthday to all with birthdays in May/June.  We welcome the new people just moved in to Loxbeare Barn & hope you will soon settle & be happy living in Loxbeare.

Take care and look after each other & keep hoping and trusting.
