I have met a lot of people since I wrote my first Reflexe - and what a lovely bunch you are! Thank you for welcoming me so warmly. Thank you to all who came to my  licensing service. How amazing was that?! And I had a wonderful time over Christmas and New Year getting to know you. I felt like that rather large lady who used to appear at the end of 'The Morecombe and Wise Show', who used to thank everyone profusely and spread love and bonhomie over all! Please bear with me as I try and remember names and faces. I'll do my best, but I really don't mind being given a healthy hint, or a gentle correction!

So now what next, I found myself thinking? Wonderful though it has been there must be more to being Rector than being a rather rotund Jolly Reverend Mother. And I found myself back where I started, the last time I wrote. Jude. The book of Jude. That wonderfully short, jam packed little book of wisdom.

'Carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith,' says Jude. Well how do you do that? Pray. Know how much God loves you. Anticipate God's generous forgiveness. And of course, I like many others throughout the world try and do just that. But there are times when we all struggle, and we need a little bit of help from those around us, who are feeling more certain and confident in their faith. What does Jude have to say about that? I read some more. "Go easy on those who hesitate in the faith. Go after those who take the wrong way. Be tender with sinners..." (Jude 22-23a, The Message)

Go easy... Go after... Be tender...

That sounds like a good way to go.
