Last year at this time we were sharing in the Queens Platinum Jubilee celebrations. This year we celebrate Kind Charles III coronation and we wish him a successful & peaceful reign as we remember him in our prayers.
Our celebrations began with a flower & craft festival in the church. Sat, Sun & Monday, with a wide variety of wonderful crafts & flower arrangements. An excellent display. Thank you to all who contributed & to those who put much time & effort to organise & set everything up. For those who came to support & those who stayed at the Church during viewing times & provided cups of tea/coffee & biscuits.
Monday afternoon finished with St Georges & St Pauls bell ringers who rang the bells. A fitting end to the weekend celebration.
Our Coronation service was held on the Sunday morning with a royal theme. Thank you to all who led & took part in any way. In the evening an 'Ultimate Cheese' & other deli treats was held in the Village Hall including a 'royal quiz'. A very enjoyable time. Again many thanks to all who organised & prepared the lovely food & the quiz.
It was good to be part of the Mission Community Group Service at Calverleigh on the 28 May celebrating the birthday of the Church at Pentecost. It was a lovely service joining together with the Exe Valley Choir & band. Thank you to all who participated & organised.
Please see centre pages of the magazine for Loxbeare services.
There will be PCC meeting on 18 July at Jean's.
A forward notice. Our Harvest festival will be on the 17 Sept in the Church at 6.30. More details in the next magazine, with Harvest Supper on Monday 18.
Our thoughts & prayers are with Derek, Marlene, Katie, Viv, and any one else feeling unwell, & to any who have lost loved ones recently.
Happy Birthday to all with birthdays in July & August & to any celebrating special occasions.
On Sat July 18 there will be a Ploughman's lunch 12.30-2.00 with a produce stall.
August 12 will be cream tea 3-4.30 with a cake stall. Any donations for both events will be given to charity.
May everyone have a good summer & hope the young people taing exams will get the grades they need for their future education or job.
