Exe Valley Mission Community

Last week’s gospel reading has given me some food for thought. It goes like this:

"Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18:19-20)

When we meet together, in prayer, and in unity, it is a powerful thing. And I believe it is an important thing for us to do. Some of us met to do just that last weekend on the Exe Valley Mission Community Quiet Day (Please read Audrey’s article about it in the magazine) and watch out for next year's Quiet Day.

And this Autumn we are re-starting our Home Groups. At the moment there are three to choose from. Each one meets fortnightly. They are:

Monday Home Group which starts on 18 September at 8pm at 6 Southfied Way Tiverton. Contact Paul Iiiff on 01884 253473

Wednesday Evening Group which starts on 13 September at 7.30pm at Church cottage, Stoodleigh. Contact John Roberts on 01884 256302

Wednesday Afternoon Women's Bible Study, which starts on 4 October at 2pm at Churchill House, Loxbeare. Contact Marion Roberts on 01884 256302

In addition to this, we will be holding a monthly Prayer Breakfast across the Exe Valley, on the last Saturday of the month.

The first one will take place at The Rectory, Withleigh, EX16 8JQ on 30th September at 9am. Please contact Steph for further details andlook at the website or church notices for future venues.

As "The Message" puts it:

"What you say to one another is eternal. I mean this. When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure I’ll be there."
